FILE - This Sept. 30, 2009, file photo shows Jayson Williams in court in Somerville, N.J. A person with knowledge of the case against retired NBA star Jayson Williams says the former player has agreed to a plea deal that would send him to prison for up to three years for shooting a driver.

Retired NBA star Jayson Williams will not be in a New Jersey courtroom Friday to enter a plea in the 2002 shooting death of a driver. A person with knowledge of the case told The Associated Press on Thursday that Williams would plead guilty to aggravated assault.
